Cooling System

Common Cooling System Issues

In our Los Angeles California climate the cooling system of your Porsche is really put to the test almost each and every day. If you spot any coolant leaks on the ground or if you have to add coolant to the reservoir, it indicates that there may be a potential problem in your cooling system.

At Westwerk German Auto our Porsche experts can repair any coolant issues your car may have including:

· Blocked Radiators

· Leaking Water Pump

· Leaking Coolant Tank

· Malfunctioning Thermostats

Protecting Your Water Pump

The water pump is a particularly salient part of your cooling system and our mechanics keep seeing engines fail due to a disintegrating water pump where the plastic impellers break off and then find their way inside the engine blocking a coolant passage which can cause cylinder heads to crack and mixing coolant and oil, all resulting in big repair bills.

At Westwerk German Auto we strongly recommend preemptively replacing the water pump in your Porsche before it has a chance of failing. We also recommend center radiators and upgraded all-aluminum radiators for increased cooling efficiency if you’re taking your Porsche to the track. For 2003-2006 Cayenne V8 owners our mechanics also specialize in plastic cooling pipe retro fits.
